Music Together – Indoors
Music Together – Indoors

Mixed Ages 0-5 | masks required for unvaccinated adults

Mondays at 6:30 PM | Tuesdays at 9:30 AM | Fridays at 9:30 AM | Saturdays at 9:30 AM

We also offer an indoor class in Lititz, at 9:30 AM on Wednesdays! You can register for that class here. Masks are required in indoor classes for unvaccinated adults.

In this ten-week indoor class, children from birth through 5(ish) years old sing, dance, play, and explore music with their grown-ups! Your teacher will lead you in activities as everyone works together to create an immersive musical environment where children can explore music at their own level. Our award-winning music, illustrated songbook, and other print and online resources will help you continue the music-making fun at home and nurture your child's musical growth—even if you don't think of yourself as a great singer or dancer. Like parenting, making music requires no previous experience or expertise, just a willingness to get down on the floor and get silly with your child!

Child development researchers have known for a long time that the natural, family-style environment of mixed-age classes is the best way for young children to learn. In our experience, it works! In Mixed-Age classes, the older children love to show what they know, and the younger ones love to watch and imitate. The relaxed, no-pressure environment lets all kids learn at their own pace.

Siblings may attend for a discounted rate with a registered sibling. Children under 9 months are free with a registered sibling.

Our winter class session begins on Monday, January 10th, and runs for 10 weeks, through Saturday, March 19th. If you have any questions about our classes please email us at info@popovskyperformingarts.com or give us a call at 717-517-8543.

Rhythm Kids Online – Wednesdays at 5:45 PM
Rhythm Kids Online – Wednesdays at 5:45 PM

for kids ages 4-9 and the grown-ups who love them!

Tuesdays at 5:45 PM with Miss Christyn

Masks are required on unvaccinated attendees.

In this ten-week music class for kids 4-9 years old we drum, sing, move, and play to rhythms inspired by musical traditions worldwide, from West African Gahu to Japanese Taiko to Brazilian Samba just to name a few.

The Tree Frog Collection will be featured this winter!

Students learn to compose, choreograph, and conduct as they play—and play with!—a variety of musical instruments: West African djembe drums, percussion instruments, and, the most important instruments of all, their voices and their bodies. As your big kid learns to think and create like a musician, they’ll also build musical connections to the global community. Grown-ups get to jump in and participate, learning rhythms, singing and chanting along, and helping to inspire a love of music-making in their children's lives. Rhythm Kids classes are a wonderful option for kids who love music, whether they just want to play with us or whether they hope to study musical instruments in the future. Participation in Rhythm Kids classes provides building blocks for understanding music that will serve students well regardless of their long-term goals! Classes include:
  • immersion in the musical language of many cultures
  • playful music games with rules
  • opportunities to lead balanced with opportunities to collaborate
  • deep exposure to complex, fun, and rockin' music
  • many chances to solo, improvise, and work in ensembles
  • rich, creative experimentation and expression, improvisation, and innovation
We recommend that you purchase a djembe for use in class and at home. We have djembes available for purchase on our website with 8" heads that are made by Toca percussion with bodies made of PVC or wood. You may also choose to purchase a djembe on your own, or borrow one during class and use any drum, box, or tabletop for practice at home!

Child development researchers have known for a long time that the natural, family-style environment of mixed-age classes is the best way for young children to learn. In our experience, it works! In all of our classes, we include mixed-age groups -  the older children love to show what they know, and the younger ones love to watch and imitate. The relaxed, no-pressure environment lets all kids learn at their own pace.
