Voice Instructors teach weekly private lessons to students ranging from children to adults and beginners to professionals. In addition to instruction, this role plays an important part in supporting studio growth through relationship-building, student retention, and contributing to a strong, inclusive internal culture.
Job Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities include:- Providing high-level, personalized voice instruction that considers a student’s goals, limitations, differences, and preferred level of commitment
- Preparing students for auditions, performances, and studio events
- Maintaining professional, timely communication with clients and colleagues
- Keeping detailed records of lessons taught, student progress, and assignments
- Managing and maintaining an organized and accurate teaching schedule
Collaboration & Culture:
- Collaborating with studio staff on performances, recitals, and special events
- Actively contributing to a positive, supportive, and growth-oriented studio culture
- Participating in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and studio initiatives
- Serving as a mentor and role model for students while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment
Community Creation & Business Development:

- Identifying gaps in programming to help increase student enrollment in cross discipline programing as well as student body growth.

Professional Growth:

Required Skills:
- B.A. or B.F.A. in Music, Performing Arts, or a related field (Master’s in Vocal Pedagogy or related field strongly preferred)
- Performance experience strongly preferred
- Ability to play piano well enough to self-accompany lessons preferred
- Strong understanding of vocal pedagogy and a passion for continued learning
- Excellent communication, organizational, and self-management skills

Apprentice Voice Instructors will observe, assist, and gradually take on guided teaching responsibilities in weekly private voice lessons for students of varying ages and experience levels. Summer Employment and Volunteer Opportunities for high school, college, graduates

Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Camp Teaching Artists to join our team for an exciting summer camp experience. Summer Camp Teaching Artists are key to creating a supportive, educational, and fun camp experience and serve as co-directors for musical theatre productions. They work closely with their fellow teaching artists, the Camp Director, Music Directors, Choreographers, and other staff to deliver an engaging and rewarding experience for everyone. Teaching Artists serve as role models for campers, ensuring their safety, kindly guiding them and teaching them about the fundamentals of performing arts through musical theatre productions.Contracts are offered based on need for each of our camp sessions, running between June 8 and August 7, with a minimum contract of 2 weeks. Preference will be given to candidates available for the duration of the summer.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Collaborate with co-directors/teaching artists and creative team to deliver an engaging experience for campers, whether in a two-week production camp that culminates in a full Junior or Kids musical theatre performance or a one-week skills-based camp focused on fun and creative learning.
- Lead rehearsals and activities to engage campers, maintain the schedule, and ensure a positive learning experience.
- Assist in casting, costuming, staging, blocking, and other production elements.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all campers.
- Facilitate smooth transitions between activities and locations throughout the day.
- Provide consistent leadership and playful engagement to foster camper confidence and enthusiasm.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who bring a combination of experience (in the classroom and on stage), creativity, playfulness, and leadership.
- Completed at least one year of college, preferably in theatre, education, or a related field.
- Experience working with children, particularly in theatre or educational settings.
- Strong background in theatre, including experience directing or assisting with productions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead activities, manage time effectively, and adapt to challenges.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for inspiring young performers.
- Experience supporting individuals with cognitive differences or neurodiversities is a plus.
Additional Details
- Compensation varies depending on experience, skill level, and job responsibilities.
- Positions will be offered based on studio needs and staff availability and will vary from contract to contract.
- All summer staff are required to attend approximately 6 hours of training and additional planning hours in the week prior to the first day of their scheduled camps. Compensation for training and planning time is included in the stipend received at the end of the assigned camp session(s).

Summer Camp Technical Director

The Summer Camp Technical Director oversees all technical and design aspects of camp productions, including sets, props, and costumes. This hands-on position works closely with teaching staff and campers to bring each session’s creative vision to life. The Technical Director ensures that production elements are safe, functional, and visually engaging while mentoring students in basic stagecraft skills.Key Responsibilities:
- Attend Training Sessions and Production Meetings

- Oversee the design, construction, and organization of sets, props, and costumes for camp performances.

Position Summary
Popovsky Performing Arts Studio (PPAS) is seeking enthusiastic and responsible High School Interns to support our Theatre Camp programs. This internship is designed for students who are interested in theatre, education, leadership, or the arts and want hands-on experience working in a dynamic, creative camp environment.
High School Interns play a key role in helping camp run smoothly by assisting teaching artists, engaging with campers, and helping to lead games, transitions, and group activities. This is a great opportunity to gain leadership experience while being part of a fun, collaborative, and fast-paced performing arts setting.
Responsibilities
- Support teaching artists in daily camp activities, rehearsals, and classroom management
- Help supervise and engage groups of children during transitions, breaks, and activities
- Lead and participate in theatre games, warm-ups, and ensemble-building exercises
- Assist with basic classroom organization, setup, and cleanup
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and focused camp environment
- Provide encouragement and positive role modeling for campers
- Support performance preparation as needed
- Communicate respectfully and clearly with staff and fellow interns
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled high school student (rising sophomore–senior preferred)

Time Commitment
